In 2013, Evanston met its goal of reducing carbon emissions 13% below the 1990 baseline. Now, we’ve set an even more ambitious goal of reducing emissions 20% by 2016. Together, we can make this happen by changing our daily habits. We can bike or take public transit instead of driving. We can make our homes and businesses more energy-efficient.
The little changes we make in our daily lives will ensure Evanston’s place as an environmental leader amongst American cities. Best of all, not only will these actions help us achieve our carbon reduction goal, but they will also help each of us save money and make Evanston a more livable city for everyone.
